The Bonnyvyille and District Centennial Centre is pleased to announce another fantastic night of live music! Celebrate the harvest season Down-East style with HEATHER RANKIN – – singer, songwriter, actor, and best-know as the youngest member of the multi-platinum group The RANKIN FAMILY – at the Bonnyville C2 on Saturday, October 13, 2018. Starting off this awesome night of music and entertainment will be Mike Plume.
Rankin’s 2016 debut solo album A Fine Line was nominated for a Juno Award for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year and two East Coast Music Awards, for Folk Recording of the Year and Fans’ Choice Video of the Year for “We Walk As One.” She has performed in venues and festivals throughout Canada, has performed for influential Canadians including Justin Trudeau, and has recorded and toured with a variety of artists incluidng The Chieftains, Johnny Reid and Carly Simon.
Heather Rankin’s talents don’t stop at music; she also holds a BFA in Theatre from Acadia University, and her acting credits include theatre, film and television. Her singing is featured in the critically-acclaimed film Margaret’s Museum. To round out a very busy lifestyle, in 2005, Rankin and her sisters purchased the seasonally operated Red Shoe Pub in their hometown of Mabou, Cape Breton. The century old converted general store offers a full menu and live local music daily from June through to mid October each year.

Opening this night of great music is MIKE PLUME, a Canadian singer/songwriter with roots right here in Bonnyville! His first album, Songs From a Northern Town, was released in 1993. Touring with groups like Blue Rodeo helped built the Plume’s following, and subsequent albums have won the artist more fans and awards. More recently, he released the album 8:30 Newfoundland, followed by Red and White Blues. Mike Plume is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. You can learn more about the artist at mikeplume.com.
