The Bonnyville Centennial Centre is pleased to announce their brand new, completely free SUPER SENIOR MEMBERSHIP for everyone aged 70 and better.
The Bonnyville and District Centennial Centre (C2) is unveiling a brand new membership option. Starting on June 5, 2017, our community’s seniors aged 70 and better will have the opportunity to enjoy the Centennial Centre completely free of charge as part of the new Super Senior Membership. Our Super Seniors will have full access to the Wellness Centre, movies, and drop-in sports and recreation in the Field House and ice arenas.
“The Super Senior Membership will be a great addition to the Bonnyville Centennial Centre in that it will encourage more seniors to use the facility and benefit their overall health and wellness. This will have a positive impact on our entire community,” says Victoria Bird, Fitness and Recreation Manager at the Centennial Centre.
Canada’s Physical Activity Guide for Older Adults recommends that seniors be active for 30 to 60 minutes daily. Exercise is a social activity that can improve mood and mental capacity, strength and mobility, healing, and reduce illness. The Bonnyville Centennial Centre has a variety of drop-in fitness programs well-suited for active, older adults. As well, the Centennial Centre has a very well-equipped fitness facility and indoor walking track.
“We are so excited to offer this new membership option to the community. We are hopeful that the free membership for adults 70 years of age and over will be encouraged to visit the facility and see how we can help them lead a more healthy, active lifestyle,” adds Bird.
